Jeffrey Yong JJ Monkey Pod
A 2012 Jeffrey Yong JJ Monkey Pod.
Having heard only good things about Jeffrey Yong’s quality as a luthier, looking at and playing this guitar just cements that. What an extraordinary build this is! With so many fantastic appointments it’s almost difficult to list them all here.
Designs like the cantilevered neck means this guitar shares some tonal characteristics with a McPherson, from our memory of having one of those in a while back, and that certainly isn’t a bad thing! The quality of craftsmanship is very reminiscent of those guitars, although this takes it even further offering a right arm and cutaway bevel alongside a handy soundport in addition.
The woods on offer here are absolutely stunning and everything just screams class and sophistication. If you haven’t tried one of these guitars out then now’s your chance and I’m sure you’ll be taken aback by the quality of craftsmanship on show here.
It’s in excellent, nigh on mint, condition with only a few marks to the binding and a couple of absolutely miniscule indentations to the lacquer finish, one on the top near the bridge bass side and one to the lower bout backside.
It comes stage ready with a K&K Pure Mini pickup system fitted and it travels in a sturdy hardcase.
