Here is a dealer select Martin D28 1937 Authentic Aged built by Martin’s Custom Shop.
This is the 2nd one of these we’ve had in recently and this one might just be even better than the previous. Setup to perfection, currently with 12s, this guitar just sings and even has a lacquer checked neck which the previous one didn’t.
Modelled after an original 1937 D28, which was CAT scanned in the Smithsonian Institute, this is a true to form Authentic remake with a select Adirondack top, Authentic bracing, ultra thin nitro finish, hide glue and cloth strip construction. This is then treated to Martin’s painstaking Stage 1 aged process to give it that well looked after vintage treasure look of a beautifully lacquer checked top.
This dealer select Custom Shop model offer some unique features and changes from the original Authentic range introduced in 2013 and this includes an adjustable truss rod which gives enthusiasts the day-in, day-out reliability of an instrument that travels well and responds to seasonal adjustments as it matures. This one also comes with an Indian Rosewood back and sides and Martin’s new proprietary Vintage Low Gloss process to the finish.
It’s an absolutely belter of a dreadnought with deep chesty lows and shimmering highs and is in pristine condition, bar the factory Stage 1 ageing process.
It comes in a TKL Harptone 545V 5 ply Martin licensed case which is also in stunning condition.
