Santa Cruz D
2002 Santa Cruz Dreadnought with Sitka Spruce top and East Indian Rosewood back and sides.
This is an incredible dreadnought from Santa Cruz and it sounds amazing. It’s been recently setup by Dave King and it projects like a bluegrass cannon whilst maintaining that perfect balance across all frequencies. Being 22 years old, this guitar has opened up beautifully. From a single strum of an open chord, it really does sound like a wonderful acoustic recording. Santa Cruz certainly know how to voice their guitars.
The Santa Cruz D Model has a unique tapered bracing, voiced to enhance the midrange and treble without compromising the bass volume. This voicing gives the D Model a more even balance and a greater versatility than traditionally braced dreadnoughts.
Whilst being well played, it’s clearly been a well loved and cared for guitar and it comes in very good condition for it's age, with just a couple of very small areas where the lacquer has come away round the purflings on the top, some slight marks to the headstock and some small lacquer indentations to the top, the worst of it being a small spot of buckle rash, (or more likely a bracelet rash in this instance), just behind the bridge on the bass side. The neck angle is great, there is no bellying behind the bridge and there is plenty of play left in the saddle, say any further action adjustements were needing to be made down the line. The frets are also in great condition.
It comes in it's official TKL 5 ply hard case, which is also in great condition.
